Cat has always wanted to paint. And as Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Every artist was first an amateur,“ so was she. When she got a paint-by-number set as a gift it was the beginning of a new hobby.
Her first paintings were impressions of Africa with acrylic paint on canvas.
Picasso once said, ”Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” So it is with Cat. She gets lost in the pastime of creativity.
While on vacation in her hometown of Austin, as well as in Florida, she enjoys drawing sketches of the landscape and also urban sketching.
Eye problems caused by a life threatening disease led her to put her desire to paint on the back burner for a time. After a while, and in spite of her handicap, she managed to continue to pursue her infatuation for art. Salvador Dali said,” A true artist is not one who is inspired, but inspires others.” Keeping that in mind, Cat hopes that through her works of acryl paintings, pencil sketches, oil paintings and collages she can inspire others. She hopes you, too, will get caught up in the passion.

Cat hatte schon immer den Gedanken, mit der Malerei zu beginnen. Ralph Waldo Emerson sagte, “Jeder Künstler war zuerst ein Amateur,“ und so war es auch bei Cat.
Ein Malen nach Zahlen Set, das sie geschenkt bekam, war der Start zu diesem Hobby. Danach begann sie Motive aus Afrika mit Acrylfarben auf Leinwand zu malen.
Picasso sagte „Kunst ist dazu da, den Staub des Alltags von der Seele zu waschen.” so ist das auch mit Cat, in ihrer Kreativität verliert Sie Zeit und Raum.
Bei ihren Besuchen in ihrer Heimat U.S.A. fertigte sie Bleistiftzeichnungen von Motiven in Florida und Texas an.
Ein schweres Augenleiden unterbrach die Malerei nur für kurze Zeit, denn sie verstand es, auch mit nur wenig Sehkraft, ihre Werke anzufertigen. Außerdem half ihr das Hobby über diese schwere Zeit hinweg.
Dali sagte,” Ein wahrer Künstler ist nicht jemand, der inspiriert ist, sondern einer, der andere inspiriert.“ Cat erhofft sich vor diesem Hintergrund, daß ihre Kunstwerke, welche sie mit Acrylfarben, Öl, Bleistift und auch als Collagen anfertigt, andere inspirieren.
Klaus Müller:
Born in Marburg/Lahn
Klaus began photography as a hobby about 35 years ago with a SLR camera and slide film. After a few years, he decided to pursue other hobbies instead.
His interest in photography was revived once again when his wife needed excellent photos for her vegan blog and cookbook. The food ingredients and finished products needed a professional touch.
After visiting the Leica Exhibition and Leica shop in Wetzlar, he purchased a Leica V-Lux in 2018. His favorite subjects are the great outdoors, architecture and his wife.
Sunsets and sunrises are his favorite themes. He often rides his bike for long stretches and uses the morning sun and, during the right time of year, fog as well, to capture unforgettable images.
His motto: Take the path less followed, away from the main stream, and discover the most unusual subjects.
Klaus Müller
Geboren in Marburg/Lahn
Klaus startete das Hobby Fotografieren vor ca. 30 Jahren mit einer
Spiegelreflexkamera und mit Dia Film, das aber nach einigen Jahren
einschlief, da andere Hobbys in den Vordergrund traten.
Wieder geweckt wurde das Interesse durch seine Frau, die für Ihren
veganen Blog und Kochbuch Bilder von Speisen und Zutaten anfertigen
musste.
Nach dem Besuch der Leica Ausstellung und des Leica Shops in Wetzlar,
wurde 2018 eine Leica V-Lux erstanden, mit der alle Bilder aufgenommen
worden sind. Am liebsten fotografiert er in der Natur und Architektur.
Sein Motto: mit offenen Augen durch das Leben gehen, weg vom main stream, und man entdeckt die außergewöhnlichen Motive.
Sunsets und sunrises sind mit die liebsten Motive. Da er oft mit dem
Fahrrad auf dem Weg zur Arbeit unterwegs ist, nutzt Klaus auch die
Gelegenheit, im Morgenlicht seine Motive zu suchen und zu fotografieren.
